Job Description / Duties

Primary Purpose: The Pioli lab in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to perform immunology research focused on B cell and antibody-secreting cell biology.

Nature of Work: Current projects in the lab include but are not limited to:

1. Deciphering the extrinsic mediators which facilitate thymus antibody-secreting cell development.

2. Investigating the impact of aging on antibody-secreting cell longevity and function.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities: The successful candidate will be expected to lead the development and completion of projects referenced above. In addition, the post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to develop new avenues of investigation.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education: PhD in immunology or related field of study required. Preferred degree completion within the last 2 years.

Experience: Background in B cell biology with functional experience in immunology techniques including but not limited to flow cytometry is preferred.

Skills: Organization, attention to detail, and the ability to keep tidy and accurate records and manage large data sets/inventories are essential for this position. The candidate will be expected to work both independently and as a highly collaborative team member. Commitment to stay current on developments in the field and the ability to effectively handle competing and shifting priorities are important for this position, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
