Assistant Professor of BioMedical Sciences – Immunology REFERENCE: F03074-2023-178

We invite applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Division of BioMedical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
We seek an enthusiastic applicant who will develop an active, independent, externally-funded research program in any area of immunology. Applicants will hold a PhD or equivalent, will have relevant postdoctoral research experience and will demonstrate a commitment to research excellence.
The successful applicant will contribute to the undergraduate medical education program, and also will support other undergraduate and graduate teaching. Ideally, applicants will be able to provide evidence of teaching competence in immunology or infectious disease.
Our Immunology and Infectious Diseases Program is particularly active in adaptive and innate immunity, virology and viral pathogenesis, as well as tumor immunology. Other active research programs within the Division include cardiovascular and renal science, bioscience of health and disease, neuroscience and human genetics. The BioMedical Sciences Division offers an attractive research environment, with many core scientific services and recently updated animal care facilities. There is a large array of shared equipment including fluorescence activated cell sorting facility and state-of-the-art technologies in microscopy. Memorial University offers access to large computational capacity through Atlantic Computing Excellence network (ACEnet) and the high-performance multi-GPU Centre for Analytics Informatics and Research. The Division encourages and promotes collaborative with clinical researchers in Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services and with research groups in the Faculties of Science, Engineering, Computer Science, and the Ocean Sciences Centre.
