These awards are available every third year and open to CSI members who will be attending the ICI annual meeting. CSI will award ten Student/Postdoctoral awards and two Junior Investigator Awards. These awards are based on funds generated when the International Congress was held in Canada (1986 and 2003).
In order to be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:
To be eligible for an award the student or postdoctoral fellow must be a member of the CSI. In addition, their supervisor (unless the supervisor's lab is not in Canada) must hold a CSI membership for the two most recent consecutive years. Student or postdoctoral fellows must complete a Travel Award application and include the abstract that has been submitted to the ICI meeting on which they are either first or senior author and have their supervisor send a letter of support to info@csi-sci.ca. A lab can only receive one award. The deadline to apply has now closed.
To be eligible for an award as a Junior Investigator, applicants must be within 6 years from the date of their first faculty appointment and be a member of the CSI for at least 2016 and 2015. Junior investigator travel award applicants must complete an application, include an abstract that will be submitted to the ICI 2016 meeting on which they are either first or senior author, include a one-page research statement and a copy of their most significant manuscript. The deadline to apply has now closed.
Winners will be notified of their success by Mar 5, 2016, allowing plenty of time to make travel arrangements.
These travel awards come from interest obtained from a fund generated when the International Congress was held in Canada (1986 and 2003). We hope Canada will be well represented at the Congress.
