A post-doctoral position is available immediately in the theme of molecular and cellular mechanisms of autoimmune peripheral neuropathy in the Pain Immunology Lab led by Dr. Ji Zhang. We use various animal models of chronic pain and sophisticated molecular, cellular and behavioral experimental approaches to dissect underlying mechanisms. The ideal candidate must have a PhD in Neuroimmunology or Immunology. He (She) must be highly motivated, proactive and autonomous, with great scientific rigor and excellent organizational skills. He (She) must be result-driven, able to manage several experiments head-on, actively participate in the laboratory activities in a collegiate way and help in supervising junior trainees. He (She) must have a very good team spirit, be proficient in written and oral English and be an excellent communicator. He (She) must have a solid expertise in multiparametric flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular biology/biochemistry approaches (qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA and immunohistochemistry) and proficiency in animal experimentation. Knowledge and experience with viral infection would be an asset. Background in neuroscience will also be a plus, but not a necessity.
