ICI 2019 - CSI Travel Award Applications

The CSI - ICI 2019 travel awards are available every third year and open to CSI members who will be attending the ICI annual meeting. This year's meeting will take place from Oct. 19 - 23 in Beijing, China. CSI will award up to eleven Student/Postdoctoral awards and two Junior Investigator Awards. A maximum of one travel award in each category will be given per laboratory. These awards are based on funds generated when the International Congress was held in Canada (1986 and 2003).

In order to be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:

Student and Postdoctoral Travel Awards ($1,500/ea):

To be eligible for an award the student or postdoctoral fellow must be a member of the CSI. In addition, their supervisor (unless the supervisor's lab is not in Canada) must hold a CSI membership for the two most recent consecutive years (2019 and 2018). Student or postdoctoral fellows must complete the online Travel Award application, upload a details page with the abstract that has been submitted to the ICI meeting on which they are either first or senior author. Additionally, have their supervisor send a letter of support to info@csi-sci.ca. A lab can only receive one award. The deadline to apply is Feb.15/19.

Your online application will require the following:

  • completed online application information
  • Details page (max 2pgs) which should include: publications, honours & awards and other activities
  • abstract submitted to ICI 2019

These travel awards come from interest obtained from a fund generated when the International Congress was held in Canada (1986 and 2003). We hope Canada will be well represented at the Congress.
